Pakistan Updates on Medical Devices and Drugs

Below are the news related to Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP).

  • For registration of drugs in Pakistan, DRAP has made it compulsory to submit data on CTD format.

  • Prices of drugs may increase under paragraph 12 (8) of Drug Pricing Policy 2018 as per below mentioned criteria: - 9% over and above maximum retail price as determined under the hardship category during the year 2018. - 15% over and above maximum retail price for drugs other than hardship cases.

  • Exemption period for registration of Class C medical device has expired on 15th January 2019.

  • New CEO has been appointed as DRAP head.
