New Zealand: Rollout New Life Changing Medicines for Public Health (w.e.f 1 October 2024)

In a significant advancement in healthcare, Pharmac, Te Aho o Te Kahu | Cancer Control Agency, Ministry of Health and Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, has collaborated in developing a range of new medicines across New Zealand, including cancer medicines. This marks a major milestone for the nation's efforts to improve access to essential treatments for various medical conditions. At the same time, helps to reduce the burden on the healthcare system by providing more effective treatments.

All these medicines have been carefully selected based on their proven efficacy in treating a range of diseases including cancer, cardiovascular disorders, and respiratory conditions. The rollout aims to make vital chronic and life-threatening medications more widely available to New Zealanders regardless of their location or socio-economic status. By enhancing the availability of critical medicines in New Zealand, Te Whatu Ora is taking concrete steps towards reducing health disparities across the country.
